Planting Spring Oats?

Is there a "best time" to plant spring oats (planting them in the Dbltree mix)?

Is a drill a better way of doing it as opposed to broadcasting? (If I had both options).

Thanks.

After that last frost... If you can figure out when that is. Probably late April. I have good luck broadcasting in loose soil and then cultipacking

Yep, either works fine as long as you get good soil to seed contact and make sure everything there is killed deader than dead. Harder getting weed control and getting things to go great in spring vs fall so the other thing I personally do is up the amount of clover seed I put down if I'm doing a spring planting. Oats a little deeper and clover will be shallow so keep that in mind when you are either doing a no till plan or working up the ground route. Good luck.
