Thunder...I happen to have watched the entire show. You are a bit confused as to what web site they mentioned on the show.

The web site which was mentioned was Iowadeer.....not Iowawhitetail.com.

Enough said...

Both individuals emphatically spoke about how they met on Iowadeer.com. I found it odd how American Hunter, and these individuals could promote such acts.

I'm with Ghost, I watched the show too, and I beleive they mentioned Iowa Deer.com, not Iowa Whitetail. They paid their fines and did their time. Do I agree with what they did? No! But what's done is done.

Re: Poachers promoted by members of Iowa whitetail

Your exactly right and I sent an appology to ghost and edited my post. Please re read it. I was just severly dissapointed in the fact that this show would promote someone even after these acts.

Thunder,

I'm not making any excuses for what happened down there, but I know both of the hunters involved in last nights show. They are both very ethical hunters and have never been involved in any wrong doing. I take offense to the fact that you are somehow lumping them in with what happened down there. All they mentioned is they meet thru the website of iowa deer. Ernie has paid his fine and admitted his guilt, it's over so lets move on.

I saw the show and the Steel Creek name immediately rang a bell from the previous discussion.

On a side note, I was not aware that there was a Larry Zach Trophy Deer Reward Fund. Way to go above and beyond Old Buck, my hat is off to you once again!

Re: Poachers promoted by members of Iowa whitetail.com

I was curious to see if Mr. Grassmid applied for a license this year. It's hard to tell becasue there's a result under the name Bob but no Rob. He also has 6 relatives that like to hunt IA. I sure hope the DNR is keeping track of Rob and Bob. Since Bob drew a tag, he had a preference point.

GRASSMID, BOB 5 AWARDED NON-RESIDENT DEER BOW 0 HUDSONVILLE, MI
GRASSMID, JIM 5 DENIED NON-RESIDENT DEER BOW 1 ZEELAND, MI
GRASSMID, LARRY 4 AWARDED NON-RESIDENT DEER GUN SEASON 1 0 HOLLAND, MI
GRASSMID, MATT 4 AWARDED NON-RESIDENT DEER GUN SEASON 1 0 ZEELAND, MI
GRASSMID, STEVE 5 DENIED NON-RESIDENT DEER GUN SEASON 1 1 WEST OLIVE, MI
GRASSMID, TIM 4 DENIED NON-RESIDENT DEER BOW 1 ZEELAND, MI

Hudsonville, Zeeland, Holland, and West Olive are all in the same area of MI.

Re: Poachers promoted by members of Iowa whitetail.com

If you have your hunting revoked for a year- that would be a 2003 violation so a loss of hunting for 2004 season? Can you apply and get a point even if you can't hunt? How would he have gotten that point? Would the DNR take away a point earned the year of the violation since they were hunting on doe tags?

Re: Poachers promoted by members of Iowa whitetail.com

So if I am thinking right here. They had to poached deer on a television show? If that is the case, I am at a lose for words.
