Looks like some type of skin issue rather than a true piebald. It looks like the long guard hairs are exposing patches of the under fur.

After your post I think you’re on to something! Second look at the pics shows different issues! No clue now what to call it. Nice catch

If that IS a piebald, it's the most mottled one I've ever seen pics of.
