Just did a hog hunt in Oklahoma last weekend and had a blast! I was able to take 2 with the bow. Can't wait to get ribs on the smoker!

Congrats!! Tell us more killer! :D I went to South Texas once about 12-13 years ago and chased javelinas and hogs with primarily archery tackle. However, due to a variety of factors, I ended up killing my javelina and my pig with my muzzleloader. But I actually had more fun spotting and stalking cottontail rabbits in the brush with my bow.

I have thought a few different times about going again, but that drive to far southern Texas was brutally long, so I have considered Oklahoma just because it is closer.

We were in Okemah, SW of Tulsa. We did mostly spot and stalk on the ground. The timber was thick enough in most places you had to get within about 20 yds just to have a clear shooting lane. Many times we'd get to about 30-40 yds away and they'd catch our wind and our stalk would start over haha.

4 of us went on a two day hunt and ended up with 8 hogs so needless to say, our coolers were full! We are definitely going back!

Nice job Nanny !!

That looks like a blast.

If my dog seen one of those pigs looking at her she
would turn around and run the other way. :p

Nice work! I have always wanted to go hunt wild bore! Trying to plan a trip down south next year with some friends. Thanks for the post

Caught 3 more today. Have video of all of them but these are the only picture we took of a 125 lb boar. Today one about got me down, all 200 lbs of mad pig.

Looks like you are chasing them in some rough country Brian, great stuff!

We are eating on 3 Colton brought home a few weeks ago.

South east, just north of the Arkansas border.

My family's farm is in Ste. Genevieve county in Southeast Missouri, so it is a little north of you by a couple hours. I've went and bow hunted hogs in Tennessee before and its a lot of fun but I sure hope they don't make their way up to where our farm is anytime soon.

Couldn't be more proud of my dogs today. Jumped this boar around 10 am and ran him for 3 hours, logging in 17.6 miles on the GPS. My main track dog, (big walker in the picture) and our main catahoula was on him the entire time. Bayed at 2.57 miles away, we drove roads around to get within 684 yards of them and turned the catch dogs to them. A short fight later we had him caught and I stuck him. I beat everyone there so I had to catch the hog, throw him and stick him by myself. He was tearing up the dogs (besides the pit, she's in full body armor  ). Great day, and our dogs did great.
