Do any of you fellas have sponsors? Like get a certain kickback$$ for promoting an item on a t.v./ youtube channel?
Gonna go into 2 scenarios that drive me nuts. First one. Bout 10 years ago, a fellow that made custom coyote mouth calls contacted me. This was a time I was doing alot of calling and traveling to western states hunting coyotes. I was doing well shooting well over 100 a year for a few years.
He asked me to promote his calls ( even though I had never blown one) and would give me a small % of his sales. Even a bit of gas/ motel $.
Gotta say I was a bit flattered by his offer but I could not do it. Never tried his call and wasn't gonna lie to become his " Pro Staffer"
Next up is one of my ALL TIME favorites, Mr Bill Winke. I have for many years (and still do) regard him as one of the purest, most likeable, honest,informative man out there. Love the guy!!
One (only) beef I have with him is his so called love of Imperial Whitetail product.
First is Beets n Greens.
Second is Imperial Whitetail clover.
I'd LOVE to sit down with Bill and ask him if he truly believes those 2 plantings are worth the $$ people have spent on them.
I have family that plants many acres of sugarbeets. They have NO business being in any brassica mix!!
Without that magic word " beets" at what, 5% of the seeds in the bag, they could sell that bag of seeds for 1/2 price but by adding a few beet seeds, they sucker some foodplotters into spending WAY to much $ on product that is nothing but a generic brassica blend.
I'd like to ask Bill if he ever shot a deer eating a sugarbeer from that blend.
Bill, if you're reading this, please, no disrespect at all. I Love your stuff and have for years but you DO know darn well there is better products available.
The clover mix, maybe fine the FIRST year but with the annual %% of seeds in that mix, basically turns to crap after that first year.
One more, Waddell product pimping years ago of " Rub Line Slime" remember that one?
Whip it on a tree and watch the big bucks come charging in. Lol.
How much $$ did that product get sucked out of people's wallets to pad his pocket with a product that was a TOTAL gimmick? I'm sure Michael new it but promoted it anyway to make $$.
