Pronhorn Taxiderism ?

Phantom's post in the PMA Harvest forum "Colorado Success" has me thinking about planning a western hunt for pronghorns. Part of my thought are about a quality mount to preserve our trophy's(positive thinking here). I recently viewed a goat Camoman had hanging in his mancave. A 1982 mount! One of the most stunning mounts of any kind I have ever seen. I honestly have never see a pronghorn mount that I found attractive until I saw his. With whitetails I have learned the hard way. Who has recommendations for top quality taxidermist for pronghorns. Websites? Thanks

If you decide to plan one and get lucky enough to get drawn in AZ (and there are some beauties here), I can recommend some local taxidermists that have done great jobs with pronghorn. However, getting drawn in AZ is tough, even for me as a resident (still waiting for my tag; may go to WY for OTC tags with a buddy of mine). If you do decide to plan one out here (or any hunt out here), let me know and I'll help you any way I can. One thing I would recommend is to search the area where you plan to hunt. In big pronghorn hunting areas (WY, MT, NV, NM, AZ), there are specialists since they see them all the time. One of the best taxidermists here in Flagstaff is Signature Taxidermy (http://www.signaturetaxidermy.com/index.html). Here is one of his pronghorn mounts: http://signaturetaxidermy.tripod.co...llery/index.album/february_shop_pics_005?i=63 (page 5 of NA Photo Gallery if link doesn't work; more on page 6) I have some friends in NM, WY, and CO that I can get some info from when you are ready. Good luck!

Mike Meyer (Meyer Taxidermy) in Goose Lake had a couple full body pronghorns in his shop last month. They were well on the way to looking like breathing animals. Mike's and award winner. Can't imagine you'd be disappointed with his work. I never have been.

We had euro mounts done on both lopes rather than going the shoulder mount route. Bard Coulson had one at the Classic a few years ago that looked pretty good.

I don't think anyone would question Coulson's quality. Sometimes if you look you can match the quality and save a few $.

Robert Howard Howard Taxidermy Ankeny. He's not the fastest but he does good work at a resonable price.

Robert Howard has done a Crappie and a Canadian Goose that I gave my son's as a Chrismas gifts. Both are very nice but the goose is way sharp. Prices are very reasonable and seems like a great guy. For deer I felt I had a better thing going with others, although more expensive.
