Getting paid for what you do, to the point you make a living off of it, makes you a "pro" by definition.
I have to agree with Kansan on this, I dont see how anyone can say that it takes no skill or talent to consistently kill big bucks. If all it took were money, only rich guys would kill big deer. I know plenty of average Joe's that succede regularly without $$, and some that throw thousands of dollars away and cant kill one big deer. I'd have to say some people just have more talent than others. Dedication has a lot to do with it as well.
Obviously you have to be in a good location to start with, that goes without saying. But that does not by any means always require money. It usually takes some talent to put yourself in the right place at the right time, then do everything right when the shot presents itself, and do it consistently. That is not the same as sitting where you are told in exchange for a couple grand.
As far as being a pro, I think it would be fun for a while, but I honestly think it would ruin it eventually. Might start being a "job"!
By the way Moose270, Milo Hansen was quoted in the Des Moines Register as saying he has made about $10K a year off his buck, or about $100,000. I was a little surprised he hadnt made more than that. I would say one big deer makes you a professional "exibitor", not a professional hunter. I dont see anything wrong with that though...
