I think this is my 3rd year with pumpkins too. We finally got enough rain, and I have dozens of pumpkins that we left in the plot. Between the pumpkins and the brassica plot next to it has the most deer in it at my place since the snow. This is the 3rd year I have planted pumpkins. They have definitely discovered a palate for them this year.
I had to fence my 2 acre patch off… once they find them and get to have a taste, it’s tough to keep them out (at least here). I don’t have a single one left out there as of yesterday.Do they browse the plant during the summer when it's growing?

Tonnage wise per acre, I think a good pumpkin plot is hard to beat.I had to fence my 2 acre patch off… once they find them and get to have a taste, it’s tough to keep them out (at least here). I don’t have a single one left out there as of yesterday.
