Just about any friction call I have purrs great with the HS Redwood striker, Mystic striker, or the HS carbon tip striker. I personally think the striker is what makes the call.
The Lohman Psycho glass surface call with back-up push button can really make you sound like a flock of turkeys. I like the advantage of one handed operation when they come in close. It purrs and clucks very well.
Use various calls for purring, but if I can get away with some movement I like using Lynch's Jet the best. It's a very small slate call which comes with a striker that's a peg mounted in a small block of wood.
Also was able to start purring with a diaphragm last year and actually like that better since you purr without movement to bring them in the last few yards for a good shot. It took me a lot of practice to get a decent sounding purr ... I use Primos diamond cut triples for all my calling.
