Question......Would ya or wouldn't ya?

My brother in TX busted a big bobcat Friday. About 20 to 22 inches tall. He said I could have it if I wanted it. I've wanted a bobcat mount for awhile but now when the opportunity is here I'm having second thoughts about one that I did not shoot. I wouldn't do it with a big game animal but a cat is different I think. How do you feel about getting something like that mounted even though you did not harvest it?

I think bobcats make creepy mounts, have yet to see one that looks realistic.

Muddy is just really jealous. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif I have had 3 bobcats mounted, and 2 of them look great. I ended up selling 1 of them to a doctor to put in his office.

Not really that big of a deal. If you want if for display, have at it.

Why not..it's something cool to look at..now if they were everywhere then it would b kinda gay, but there not , so I would do it.. get him clawing on the base of a tree cut in half against ur wall!!!

They look really neat when you get one pouncing/jumping at a flushing pheasant.. One of my classmates at taxidermy school mounted one laying in the palmation of a big moose antler.. it looked awesome

Yup, I'd do it. I agree with Bill that the leaping pheasant-flush pose is one of the coolest I've seen for bobcat. If you don't want to swing for the full body, just do a rug or a bust mount. Still very cool! /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Yeh, that would be cool. I thought one with the cat holding a bird down with his front paws and his a$$ in the air (kinda like THA4) would be cool also.

That's not true. I snapped this pic of Tommy boy last summer at the county fair cheesburger eatin contest. Which he handily won buy the way............
