This will be my first time Shotgun hunting in Illinois. Doe season starts Thursday. I just realized I need a plug so my gun only holds 2 slugs not including 1 in the chamber.

Just a Remington 870. 2 3\4" slugs. I called Farm King and Walmart. They dont carry them. One guy said to get a dowell rod and cut it to length. Good idea? Bad idea? If anyone knows a place that carries them near Fort Madison or Burlington please let me know thatd be great. Thanks!

Honestly, that is the only type of "plug" I have seen for a gun. That works just fine.

Dumb question I guess. My gun came with the green plastic plug. Somehow I lost it. Ill use a dowell rod. Thanks deeraddict.

Break a pencil to length and it works just fine.

Take the ink cartridge out of a Bic ballpoint pen so you have just the tube. I have that in an 1100 of mine.
