When putting out trail cams do you guys always, sometimes, or hardly ever put out "bait" whether it's corn, liquid, salt, or mineral block. If so what kind do you use?

I almost always have something in front of it. Depending on where it is located. If I'm trying to figure out what deer are traveling where, I won't use bait, but rather put the camera on trails. If I just want to see what deer are in the area then I will use bait to get an inventory.

Sometimes... When I put a cam over food plots that I will hunt over, no bait. Yea, I know food plots are "bait" of sorts but they are legal bait. ;) I also put cameras over mineral licks that are not near stand sites and use trace mineral (red salt). I have put corn out with salt but got too many raccoon pictures so quit that.

IMO you have to slow the deer down some how to get the best pictures. I only use mineral stations during the growing period as Ben stated. During September i move my cameras to apple trees or bean plots that are still green. From October through Decemeber i only use scrapes. Im sure everyone has a different opinion on the matter however those have worked best for me.
