Range finder and release recommendations

It turns out that I will need to replace both my trusty hunting release that I have had for nearly 20 years and also my range finder. Both were stolen from me recently unfortunately.

I would be interested to get some advice from others on the best choices to replace them. Please note...I cannot afford the very expensive range finders that are out there now! :D I am more in the couple hundred dollar mode!

I've had a nikon archers choice range finder for about 6 years now and it's been very good, long battery life too. I was using a tru ball release and it was nice but switched to a Scott last fall and like it a lot better, I seem to be more accurate with the Scott.

Scott release.

Ive got a $200 some dollar Nikon rangefinder that is the cats meow. Way better than the cheap bushnell I had before.

Leupold for the rangefinder. You can get them for about $250 on sale and they're worth the extra coin. I was like you and didn't want to spend too much so I got the Nikon aculon for under $200. I ended up returning it after one hunt though. Maybe I just had a bad unit, but about 2 out of 5 readings wouldn't pick up; this was less than 50 yds out too. Release all comes down to preference, I've had the same tru-fire for over a decade.

I use Leupold rx-1000i rangefinder and really like it. Like how it gives readings in red so you can see them in dark conditions. I used to have a bushnell that had black readings and it was very hard to see the numbers.

For release I use the Tru-Fire hardcore. It took a little getting used to from my old release but now I really like it. (Used to shoot an older Scott release)

Been thru "a lot of releases" and I know for a fact my accuracy (just me. Ok and my brothers had same thing) went much better when I got tru-fire HURRICANE GLOVE RELEASE. The glove is awesome, makes pulling back way easier. I was shooting some tru-balls and OMG- my accuracy is so much better with hurricane, it would take a lot to get me to switch.

Have a Nikon rangefinder. Still on original batteries after 5 years. Try some, I know Bushnell's when I bought were hard to read as the number was in the body area. Use a 4 finger true fire and love it after quite a bit of practice.

Leupold is the best I have had on the less expensive side. Wait for a sale. I have been disappointed with both Nikon and Busnell. The red read out is unbeatable in low light conditions. Battery life is a little short.

I have a Leupold also...works great and you can always read it.

For releases I like the Tru Ball short and sweet S2 style release. They have a new Fang release that is this style too. The short and sweet S2 was a vegas winner and has also won several other 90 M golds also.
