I purchased this camera today from.an estate sale. It is password protected......my question is will it still work, just on the previous owners settings

Does the camera prompt you to enter a code? Not sure what your asking but if you don't have the code and it prompts you to enter one, your out of luck.

If I turn it on and set it up will it take pictures on what settings are already saved into the machine? Do the Reconyx automatically arm themselves?

You will have to use the passcode. Contact Reconyx and explain your situation. You probably will have to send it in.

You will need alot if background to get that thing working. Reconyx will hold it for some time to make sure it's not stolen before returning to you.

I learned how to reset the password on reconyx cameras today.....so all good now!
