I agree 100% Pupchow, I truly believe law enforcement people are good people. With that said I'd be making a call not to them but to someone with a hacksaw, but then again I usually carry my saw so that any big buck I find ends up in my basement not on some wall with some guy telling b.s stories about where it came from.

Pupchow, the deer was taken between Grand Meadow and Stewartville about 8 years ago. Saskguy, I will give you a call on the next good winterkill. Problem so far is they have all been on private land owned by an Outfitter, and he makes sure that we, and he, are not illegal. Timberpig, no I wasn't trying to lump all LEO's into the same group. All I'm saying is that it's quite abit more common then you would think. I've been an official measurer for over 15 years, in this time I have seen it and heard it told many times. Sorry if I offended you.., but it is happening. Not all officers are deer nuts, but the ones who are have a good resoarce to put together a "free" collection. Here's another for you. Man up in Clay county Minn runs a State Park and is also the head of our States Nature Conservecy program. Well, we can't shed hunt the park, a rule that is governed by the park operator, and any State park up here may or may not let you. Nature Conservecy land it's stricktly forbidden. However, this guy has several hundred shed antlers he's collected over the years. Go figure! Theres another State Park close to where I now live. I stopped in and asked the lady if I could shed hunt it and she said no. Half hour later she readily addmitted that she shed hunts it her self. I guess if you become a State Park manager, you can have some incredible shed hunting all to yourself. You know the old saying, "wouldn't have beleived it if I hadn't seen it with my own eye's"? Well, I've seen it. Timberpig, I think its alittle more common then you think.
