We have 6 small trees out in front of our office, and they are full of robins right now. We've all noticed that they just showed up this past week. I bet every tree has at least 10-12 robins perched in them.

they have a brain about as big as a good sized booger, i wouldn't put much stock in the early return.

OOOoooh Muddy. Good thing I've got trail cams to work on this afternoon or I'd spend a fair amount of it working up a good reply to this one.

As far as Robins go, I had one in the yard a day or two before the cold snap. Haven't seen it since. I figured it was a northern Robin just heading south. Some places in Iowa have Robins year round.

Ours left right before rifle season, haven't seen them since. Usually they disappear about the time the rut is closing down. We'll be seeing them again in about a month or so. Kind of funny hearing you northerners talk about it being warmer, we've had the strongest winter, in relation to winter storms and temps, in six years down this way. Not the best winter for a poor hay crop this past year.

According to the old wives tale it needs to snow three times on a Robin's back and we are done with the snow.
I wonder if they were here yesterday.

Middle of January the robins were thick in southeast iowa. I don't know if they stuck around or not. They weren't gone long.

Had 4 robins runnin round here bout 3 weeks ago.... haven't seen them since... but then again .... been too damn cold to look for um..

They must be hangin out with the ducks. We have alot of ducks around here right now, no open water, but quite a few ducks. silly birds, don't know when to give up.

They're in a for a rude awakening if they come this far.

Oh yea, I'm with all the way. They don't need to get that far north for a slap of reality. We're sittin pretty right now in Fargo at -28F and its dropping pretty fast.

[/ QUOTE ] Bwhahahahaha now that's funny! It's exactly how I feel about them, I rank them right down there with grackles and starlings.

Here in Washington Co. the robins have been here since last spring, they never left! We have at least 25 sitting in the crabapple trees every day, they got them mostly picked clean. I've never seen this many robins stick it out through the winter like this year, unreal.

every day when im walking i see the same 10 or 15 robins sitting in a tree just screwing around
