I am running out of ideas for mounts. I figure their has to be a lot of interesting mounts, scenes and pedistals out there. Lets see your favorite.

Here is my wifes 2001 The form was modified turning the head 20 degrees or so further to the deer's left and tipping the chin up.

Running out of ideas for mounts? That must be a rough problem to have!

Get online and order a couple taxidermy supply catalogs. There are dozens and dozens of different forms out there in basically any pose you want.

I hope I can run out of mount ideas someday with deer heads!

Actually I wanted to see how some of deer turned out. You get to see all the harvest photos but rarely see pictures of the animal mounted. As far as the forms go they are basically all the same. There is very little difference between one manufactureres full upright and the next. A sneak is a sneak...... So to speak..

I was more intrested to see if anyone had any unusual bases, pedistals or scenes for their mounts.

If you have a wife that hunts like mine you will have the same problem some day. Might sound like a good problem till you see my taidermy and Cabelas bills.

I get ya...I'm already there with mounts in my house, bear rugs, moose sheds up the wazoo, dear heads, birds, skulls, and a full body bear coming...I'm lucky to have the wife that I have. Although if she was half as hardcore as I am, we'd have to build a morton building.

The good thing for me is that I do all my own taxidermy, minus the full body bear.

I still have the Cabelas bills though.

I understand what you're saying about the forms..you're right..they are all basically the same, but it's nice to know all of the different options. It would be nice to see more of the bucks mounted that have been posted in the forum.

This was the buck I shot last year and I really like the aggressive pose. Love how he turned out! This is my first time posting a pic so I hope it turns out.

I had an idea but I need lady luck on my side. I was going to put one buck in the corner of my basement and turned to his left like he is ready to lower the antlers and fight. Then I wanted to shoot another wall hanger and have him on the opposite wall and turned to his right. Almost like the two buck are inches away from locking up antlers. Just an idea I'd thought about this year. Don't know if or when I'd do it.

Here is one of the prettiest mounts I have seen. Bladed maine beams, dark rack and a nice chocolate hair do.

I am in the same boat. I have 9 mountsso far and I hope I am not done yet. Here is one I got done in 2003. It is a pedistal mount and I cut down a nice big tree that had been rubbed. I put it on a base and added some switch grass, dirt and twigs to the base. I also put a shed that I think was this deers previous rack on the base. The shed is left of the tree. It is a little hard to see in the pic.
