Rutting behavior

I was on stand this afternoon. About 2:30, three deer enter my property. I just figured they were driven there by the neighbors hunting pressure. From the distance, it looks like two does and a three point (spike one side, curve main beam/fork the other). The lead doe takes them out on the ice of a pond. Kind of comical watching them skate around on the ice. They head over the dam and off through a brushy water way. What was three deer becomes four on the other side of the water way. I guess there was a bigger buck bedded down and he decided this doe was worth moving for. About a half hour later, here comes a spike and the three point up the fence line towards me. I'm guessing it was these two bird dogging the doe and I couldn't see the little spikes the first time they went by. They run be me at 15 feet, the spike has that rut mouth thing going on (mouth agape). They go 40 yards past me, turn around and come back by me on the same trail. I'm standing on the ground, orange head to toe, leaning against a hickory. I really don't think they knew I was there (strong wind in my favor). Young lads looking for love, I guess.

Saturday mornin' I watched a couple of small 4 and 6 pointers get into a shovin' match over the 4 does they were doggin'. came by at less than 20 feet. could of cared less about my orange behind planted on that log. course, i was covered in wet, sticky snow at the time.
