This just made perfect sense to be shared.

Lindsay Lohan is 24 and her story is all over the news because she's a celebrity and a drug addict. Charlie Sheen is all over the news because he is a celebrity and has multiple issues.

Are all Marines that gave their lives this week for us.

There is no media for them. Not even a mention of their names.

It is very sad....IF there even is a mention anymore of soldiers who gave their lives for this country it is only the time it takes for the news anchor to read their names and that is it.

If I wasn't in the military right now it would actually be pretty easy to forget there even IS A WAR right now since it is hardly talked about.

The priorities of this country are F'd up beyond belief.

Breiner11 thanks for posting this. You are so right, how sad it is. My son Harold joined the Marines almost two years ago with a goal of making special forces. Well, with lots of hard work and pure determination he made it. He is a Recon Marine and I am so proud of him. He will be home for ten days the last of this month before going to some hell hole in Afganistan this spring with some forty other brave men. We are still losing many young men over there with little notoriety. Pray for them all.

Too bad we didn't go over ther to WIN, a war. Instead it seems we are just playing with killers. Similar to how we play with criminals here.

God bless the soldier. My brother is in Afghanistan right now, all he talks about when he calls is how much he misses drinking beer and can't stand the thought of missing Turkey season.

Very sad isnt it, thank you to all the soldiers fighting and ones that have died protecting us. and to there families, you are not forgotten

God bless our military my thought is we kick the media out of that sh%t hole sand trap and do what it takes to win over there and bring our soldiers home station them on our borders and kick some ass there for a while without the media present let them worry about what Charlie and Lindsey are doing.

YES!! A great post indeed. Puts everything in perspective no doubt. Out military men deserve more credit than what they are getting that is for sure. Thanks for the reminder to our MEN.

Freedom is Not Free!

My son Ryan went to Iraq when our troops were called to invade and over throw Saddam Hussein. Ryan was in Iraq for 14 months.

My daughter Cassie has only been back in the states for a few months following her tour in Afghanistan.

Now it seems I will be tying the yellow ribbon to the oak tree again for Cassie’s husband Justin. Justin has orders for Afghanistan; he will be leaving in April.

I have never supported our countries decision to start the Iraq War or become involved in the Afghanistan War.

I am however very proud of my children as I am all of the young men & women who have chosen to serve our country.

For those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice my thoughts go out to the families of these brave young men & women.

Freedom is Not Free!

The media seems to want to make all of us define ourselves as either "conservative" or "liberal" rather Americans. I watch the nightly news shows to try to stay informed but it is getting harder and harder to stomach ANY OF IT. Fox, MSNBC, CNN whatever. Sure my views line up more with some versus others but every one of them has their slant and very, very few seem to want to define each of us as Americans, just conservatives or liberals. Makes me want to heave most nights and just go walk the dog.

My father was a WWII era Navy pilot. Never served combat but enlisted none the less and was willing to do whatever was asked of him. I think his shame of America today would be hard for him to stomach if he was still alive.

Thanks for the post, thanks for all serving today, and god bless all those who have fallen serving America and it's citizens. Hopefully we all still deserve the freedom that alot of us take for granted each and every day. Sometimes, I know I fall short like most of us probably do. May we all strive to be better Americans each and every day.

Thanks so much for the post! My brother is a Marine and I agree its terrible to see what the news is covering...I seems you have to "research" to see what's going on.

I know I forget sometimes that everything I do every day is just this little spec of matter in little 'ol Iowa and the reason I can have a happy healthy family and the luxury of enjoying the outdoors is because of the sacrifice men and women make every day for us.

Thanks again for the post and THANK YOU to all those who have served past and present.
