Has anybody ever tried using salt blocks or apple blocks? With any great success from them because right now I have them at 3 baited areas checking for shed bucks?

They will go to them a little but more so when summer hits. I dont like using them because they dont do anything for the deer. Health or antler wise. I use H.S. Vita Rack.

I buy the bags of pellet salt for your water softners and mix them 50/50 with cracked corn and cover with Buck Jam. I will slowly lower the amount of corn as it gets closer to Summer.

I have had great luck with this combo with all sorts of wildlife.

I use pellet water softener salt as well. I used to make a big mixture of different minerals and stuff, but I did a bunch of research and have found numerous studies that have shown that mineral supplements do nothing for antler growth. Deer just need the sodium to counteract the high potassium content of green foliage, so I go the cheapest route and get the bagged salt. The deer tend to prefer it over block salt..

I had a 50 lb salt block I put out right at the end of late muzzy...last weekend, it was completely gone... so I am going with the deer go to them a little this time of year :way:
