The author of the NAW article replied to me with these emojis.Some jerk (maybe me) Googled his name and several social media posts came up on Facebook sites like Trophy Bucks of Iowa. The "jerk" then posted clips of the article in his picture comments on all of the sites.
I was reading some of the posts on FB from a little feller defending these guys, it was comedy gold.
Yes, the little punk said the landowners were setting up fake Facebook accounts to shame the trespassers. He lied, they didn't.

Unfortunately some areas are self created by social media posts. If you have the time and quick search can nail a home range for people. You can even strip metadata out of a image to get where photo was taken. All my hero shots are not taken on farm deer were takenMY HOOD!!!!!!!! Good gosh do we have a lot of issues!!!!!!
I just heard about this & heard it hit the newspaper today.
U get in areas with a “reputation”…. folks don’t realize the problems that come with it.
Sounds like fines were stiff …. all paid which is good.
I know some folks to thank on those increases in fines that were very much due!!!!
For sure!!!! Multiple guys that have been busted in our area had maps of our farms & last few years…. Would show OnX pins & “all the good farms” would be pinned.
I'm with you sir. I'm not saying anyone is at fault but visibility is definitely not helping the focus on certain locations. Problem is with decatur county...not a high enough priority until enough people squeak. Then you do catch them, call the sheriff, they just tell them to go elsewhere. (Yes, that happened to me) Strategically places shooting ranges work also I found out. Haven't met the new C.O. but heard he is pretty good.
I highly doubt deer hunting is where he draws the line for ethical behavior.
