Scary stuff!!!!

If the outfitter thinks the video clip is good for business then his concept of hunting is money driven. The lion deserved better. He almost got the better when he came within inches of breaking the shooters neck. (Question?)
Does anyone know if those type of hunts are free range hunts or are they fenced hunts in most areas of South Africa? Reminder--Cancel lion hunt period!!!
Whew!!!

I got that

kind of face when that thing got within 10 yards of the hunters. Dad and I both agree that it looks like that one last second shot saved the original shooter's life. Under-age or not, I'd be buying that guy drinks.

Maybe a couple ice cold Root Brewskies.

After watching that video over and over I just can not believe the sheer power and will of that lion. Right after missing the guy and being shot several times he was on his feet in a matter of seconds before he was felled with the guides last shot. Wow!!! what a warrior.

After watching the video I though the last shot fired before he reach the hunter was a life saver. If you watch you can see the exit wound as it appears, right after the shot. The blood starts to flow immediately. I am guessing that shot through the cat off enough to allow the hunter to dodge the charge. That’s how it looks to me from this soft chair

Wow. The biggest semi-auto would be nice to have there!!!!!

My suggested title for that video would be, "Idiots on Safari". They're all lucky to be alive.

my dad laughed when he saw this. he said "i always thought that any animal has the right to kill you if you have the right to kill it". i would have to agree.

The clip finally downloaded. This reminds of the guy who spayed the doe in heat on himself and was attached by the big buck. Someone that stupid and with that little respect for the game they are hunting diserves what they get.

First of all, those guys are very very very lucky to be alive! Second of all, they shouldn't have been hunting in the first place if they were going to be that stupid.

thats just one of the risks of hunting big game, there always that chance to take it dont matter what your hunting they're wild and can take alot of lead, i was coon hunting one night and had dropped a big racoon and the hounds were tied up and it tore my buddy up, not life threatning but good it just shows you big or small they get pissed when you hurt them

not sure if i liked it or not. my father has hunted in africa several times and has 4 out of the BIG 5. where he hunts there are no fences. i think a better shot selection and that would have not happened.

I have yet to get this clip to play. I'm still using aol but I've tried playing it through IExplorer, media player, and real player... I'm getting upset. When I download the movie, all I receive is the audio of the video. Do I need to download different codec's???

All I can say is that If/when I hunt anything in Africa I think I will stick to a round that has a H&H after it!

Reminds me of a HUGE brown bear stuffed at a local range. Its paws are level with my head!!!! It took if I remember right 3 or 4 shots from a 300 winmag after being spooked and charging 100 yards at the hunter. Last show was within a dozen or so yards...

What is the largest caliber the BAR comes in

Hey guy's, I went to the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show yesterday in Harrisburg PA. Walking past a booth I noticed two tv screens and both were showing the video of this lion kill so I went in to get the scoop. Seems it was in South Africa at a native village. The village had a ten foot high electric fence around it and this lion got in somehow, killed a man and horse and then couldn't get back out, so they brought these "hunters"( and I do use that term lightly) in to dispatch the lion. The idiot that did the intial shooting was only shooting a .300 magnum, a bit on the light side huh? The PH had a .375 H&H. Two things I noticed on the bigger screens that I missed on the computer film, when the lion jumped up to swat at the hunter he caught the guys binos with his paw and sent them around his neck like a hoola-hoop, and the lions tail wrapped completely around the hunter during his leap at him. Take it for what its worth, thats what the guys in the booth told me.
