i was wondering if you dont have nice apparel like scentblocker and etc. if you just put on dead down wind or somthing like that on your camo. will it work the same as scentblocker apparel? and is it necessary to wash yourself with scentkiller wash?

Here is my scent containment suit, anything less is junk!

So you might guess I'm a little biased against the "scent absorbing" claims of some of the "snake oil" purveyors. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I think it is wise to shower with scent reducing products and keep your clothes from getting contaminated with foreign odors, but the best plan is to play the wind, IMO.

My regimen is to wash with scent free soap/shampoo and wash clothes in non scent detergent. Then leave outside to air dry. I like fall scented spray like HS makes. I use regular camo, not a fan of carbon stuff. Wear rubber boots.

I myself wanted the carbon cloths thinking they would be the cure all. The $ cut that thought short. I went with a kit from HS Scents that included soap, dryer sheets, laundy detergent, deoderant and scent killing spray and a big plastic bag to keep your cloths in. I first did this three years ago, and (knock on wood) I truley have not been busted yet. I do try my best to play the wind, but with a couple of stand sites that the deer can come in on me from any direction at ay time, I have had great luck even with deer coming in from down wind. I ended up not using the bag that comes in the kit and buy ZIP LOck giant bags, and keep a HS dryer sheet in with my cloths. So far so good for me anyway. In other words before you spend the fat cash on the SB clothing try some other ideas. And IMO listen to what the guys here on the forum tell you. I have learned allot from just reading posts.

I do pritty much the same as deeraddict except instead of the dryer sheet I put an autum forest scent wafer in the bag. Those things are amazing and last forever. I've been using the same three for going on three years, as long as you switch them out in the container they come in to let them recharge or whatever.

I do the same as the others said scent soap and dryer sheets but i also put wallnuts and spruce branches in a plastic tote with my clothes and backpack after they get washed seal it up put them on when i get to my hunting spot and i havent really ever got busted when playing the wind but keep spruce branches away from underware u will have a better sit

hey thanks for all the help im glad im not the only one that doesnt have scentblocker brand clothes. ill try that hs scent kit.
