Scouting in Southern Iowa

I normally spend time scouting new spots in February, but this year I was busy with my marriage stuff. But I'd still like to get out and check out some more properties in zone 5. Curious if April 7-10 is too late and if it might be too greened up. If I could wait until then I could combine it with a business trip and shave 3 hours driving time. Any thoughts?

Depends on the property type and if this weather keeps up. I would say you will be fine waiting a few more weeks to scout. Some sign will be covered but should be early enough yet you will be fine.

With the warm winter we had, I think things will green up sooner this year than normal, but you should still have a good go of it in early April. Check and make sure you aren't getting into youth turkey season though...I haven't looked at the dates, but I think you would be getting into that.
