Scrapes

Has anybody seen any new scrapes. I had great luck last year with the Buck Fever Synthetic scents for mock scrapes. This year, I put one out a little earlyer (Sunday) and am hoping that the deer start using it. Just wanted to know what you guys are seeing, because I am going out with a muzzeloader this coming weekend for youth. Talk about not being able to concentrate in school (I am in a computer class right now).

I have a few spots that have border scrapes almost every year and as of last weekend they weren't out yet.

This time of the year I would concentrate my efforts of food sources.

Green fields are an excellent choice. Hunt them on the evenings otherwise you will scare all the deer out of the area if you hunt them in the morning.

For morning hunts find yourself a place in the woods between a feeding area (green field) and bedding area, just don't walk through the green field to get to your stand otherwise you will scare away the deer you are trying to hunt.

Good Luck and Shoot Straight.

I moved my camera Saturday over a scrape that was not there three days prior. Seen several new rubs too.

All the rubs that I have seen were next to food plots. I am not going to go back to check for more with bow hunting season just around the corner. The biggest rub I have probably seen this year was on a tree about 3 inches wide or so...

Hung a camera about a week ago and saw at least a half dozen scrapes. Most were borderline scrapes along fencelines.

We were out on Friday for a little quick scout in a new area we haven't hunted before and come across a couple of scapes. Nothing very big though.

I saw three fresh scrapes while hanging stands on Sept 1st. Finaly got all the thorns out of me so its time to head back out and do it again!!
