I slipped out this morning for a quick hunt and had a hen pop out near me followed by some little ones. Seems awful early for them to be hatched and moving around! Seen 6 other hens that were out picking around in the field that never had any followers.
Wow, that does seem early. How long does it take a hen to hatch her eggs? That sighting would appear to give creedence to the notion that the unusually warm winter/spring did lead to extra early mating for the turks this year.
