Self Imposed Suicide watch

Sounds like a brisket shot to me also. I have had the same happen to me before. Unfortunately no recovery. If you think about it, there isn't much if any fat under the hide next to the vitals. I'm sure he will heal up good as new in a week or less.
 
Well, this has most certainly been a strange season. I found this buck this afternoon along the creek bed while going out to check cams. Critters have gotten the best of him, but the rack is fully in tact.

My shot was good on the entrance but I think the angle was more severe than I thought. I'm happy to be able to put an ending to that hunt. It was tearing me up inside that he could be dead and I didn't find him. Was kinda hoping though that he was alive and get a crack at him during shotgun season though..
 
Ok, then this is the only pic I have right now.. How can a deer have such long tines and nothing for brows??? That's just not fair!!!!!
