Shed bucks

I picked up the first shed back on the 15th…. Buddy had multiple shed on the 12th I think? Saw one yesterday with one side too- they are really dropping here already

I had a couple of bucks shed the first week of December..It’s not normal, I wonder what the heck is going on. Obviously stressed for some reason.

Seemed like with lower doe numbers the rut was extremely rough on the bucks by me. I’ve never seen them so run down and skinny before. I was glad to see the weather warm up and snow melt. I doubt some woulda made it if it stayed cold and snowy through this month and into the next.

Show…
Shot a buck years ago in early December, when I grabbed hit antlers to roll him over one came off in my hand. When I got to a butcher and pulled him out the other antler popped off!

Are a ton already shedding in Iowa? We've seen a couple in MN, but not many.
My son and I are heading down to the Afton area January 2nd for a muzzleloader hunt. Hopefully it won't be a waste of time!?

I wouldn't say "a ton" but there certainly are shed bucks walking around. I talked with an agent for a big land broker yesterday and he said the same thing, most people he talked to have seen at least one or two now.

Got my first earlier this week here in Indiana. I have been here for nearly 20 years and have never had a buck in any of my farms shed before Jan 1. Definitely odd
