Shed Hunting Question

Hey all, sorry if this has been asked and answered already or in the wrong area. I'm new to the website. I am wondering if it is legal to use dogs to shed hunt on public ground in Iowa. I just moved here last May so I missed the shed season, but have a new pup since then and wondering whether to train him or not. Need to make sure its legal to use dogs on public grounds to do so first. Any input would be appreciated!

I know of no prohibition to take a dog for a walk on public ground, but I would search out a more qualified answer before investing in a dog/training.

I believe it is not allowed during the nesting period.

You should be golden. I think the nesting restriction is March 15-July 15th each year. This is all state owned GMAs.. Good luck, I’m ready to take this guy out again this spring.
