Shotgun Explodes As Lightning Strikes Skeet Shooter

Brent Kuehne of Greeley, Colorado, was skeet shooting with a friend on Monday afternoon when he was struck by lightning.
Kuehne suffered serious injuries after the shotgun he was holding exploded from the lightning bolt and knocked him to the ground.
Margie Martinez, a spokeswoman for the Weld County sheriff’s office, said that Kuehne was with a group of seven people shooting skeet before a heavy thunderstorm moved through the area.
A woman gave first aid to Kuehne while waiting for emergency personnel to arrive. Kuehne’s condition is currently unknown because of patient confidentiality laws.
