Yea I was thinkin of headin to the woods this afternoon but its suppose to snow this afternoon.. actually its flurrin right now but I was just wonderin if it would be a waste of time and gas to be out there then? What are your guys thoughts?

Get out there! I would be but I have to work. Great time to be in the woods. If not for you do it for the fellow IW guys that are stuck in the office /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Uhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....HELLO!

Get your butt in the tree!!!

A thirty degree temperature drop in 24 hours...wish I had a buck tag right now.

get out there!!!! i was out there last sunday morning (when it was cold, raining, windy, and foggy) and didnt see anything. i was wishing it was snowing instead of raining last sunday in the stand and now that it is i cant get out!!! go sit out and kill something cause i KNOW you will see deer!!!

Heading out with my son in the next hour. Have to go to Des Moines tomorrow for Turkey Day; would be a great feeling to go with a deer or two hanging in the shed awaiting our return!

Well I took your guys advice and went out.. I arrived there alittle late (long story) probably was about oh 3:15 on the way to the stand and sure enough I herd a grunt. So I stopped and sat still for about 5 minutes then continued walking. Well sure enough, an 8pt. was layin down in the ravine, scared him out. So I finally sat up in the old treestand, but right as i sat down, the wind started to pick up. Man I froze, just couldn't move, so about 45 minutes of straight line winds, I decide to climb out. Well i decided to sit down in the same ravin I passed earlier.. Sure enough there was a "huge" buck, I mean i'm talkin 190 class and he must of slipped down their, when I was dwellin on the wind and turkey. I just sat their dumbfounded as I watched that pair of antlers leave me. JUst a sick feelin in the pit of me stomach.. MOral of the story, "STAY IN YOUR STAND, NO MATTER HOW TEMPTING ANTOHER SPOT MAY BE."

I hunted during the snow storm. It was great; I saw a lot of deer activity. Several shooters chasing does, they just didn’t come my way.

By the looks of the tracks in the snow the deer must have been moving most of the day here in SW Iowa.
