Great post idea! Mine are definitely a part of the family! Here are Thor (white male) and Jake (black/tan female) last year (2011) after a couple of hours of shed hunting NW of town.

After the morning's haul.

This is one of my all-time favorite Thor pics. This is what happens when you leave a white German shepherd outside in your backyard during a nice winter rain in the desert of Tucson.

And here is Thor post cancer surgery. Don't let the 3-legged status fool you. He's back to his "hurt what's mine and I'll seriously hurt you" mentality." If you don't believe it, come knock on our front door or look at my kids wrong!

Charlie...as you can see, he likes to sleep on the couch ALMOST as much as he likes to hunt!

They grow up fast. Parker will be a year old next month.

My dog Patches. Shes a Purebred Blue Heeler. I got her as a pup in 1999 when I lived at home on the farm. She still acts and looks like a pup but look out when it comes down to business shes a cow dog. Great around all the family and kids.

Hunter was rescued by our family in June of 2010. He has been an almost constant companion of mine or the others in the family every day since.

Can't claim her as mine, but she is my dad's Christmas present that we all get to enjoy when we are at the farm. Like Shedhunter's, Josie our blue heeler, is strictly a cattle dog, rat killing, coon treeing machine, and is super friendly with everyone with loads of energy. These pics are from the day we got her 3 years ago.

My nutty boxer Gabby. She's a typical boxer, FULL of non-stop energy especially when new people arrive at the house. This pic was when she was only 8 months old or so. She's been a great dog and the kids love her.

This is my good buddy Kinnick. Yes we are Hawkeyes fans at our house!! Kinnick is the most timid dog I have ever been around. The dog is scared of just about anything and everything. He has been timid since the day we got him. Got him when he was almost 4 months. Hasn't been around water a ton but just doesn't know what to think about it when he is around it. Never had a dog growing up and never knew what it was like when people talked about a mans best friend but I definitely know now. Love him to death.

He loves to go feed the deer!

Kinnick will let you do anything to him. You can hold him like a baby or prop him up like a person and he will sit there and let you do it.

And if you aren't careful, he might steal your sucker if you are holding it instead of having it in your mouth.

Here is my best friend Penny. Have had her since she was 7 weeks old and on Saturday she will be 8. She has slowed down from 100mph to about 97 over those 8 years.

My best bud Nash. Turned 2 last month. He's at the trainers for the next 2 months. It's killing me not having him around. He usually makes every step with me everyday. Can't wait to get him back. Making the trip to see him next week
