I've been trying to figure out what these shrubs are on my dad's place so I know if I should get rid of them or promote them. They make nice cover and seem to really be spreading.

Look like dogwood leaves, and the green little balls are the compacted immature flower buds and those spread out more when they finally flower.

Some sort of dogwood was the closest I came up with too. Thanks for the help!

I think those look like dogwoods. I keep the dogwoods around our property, but kill all of the honeysuckle.

If they are a dogwood....very good browse for deer.
