Sick deer?

I have pictures over a few years of a doe who's tongue hangs like that. She's always seemed healthy otherwise. Don't know that the cause is necisarily the same here but I've seen similar symptoms.

I had my pen raised buck of 10 yrs of age do this back in sept. lost a ton of weight it caused by a absess in his pallet when it finally burst he recovered and is doing fine today.
