From the Iowa DNR website:

Future of New Siouxland Public Area Topic of Meeting

The future plans for a new 160-acre area north of Stone State Park in southern Plymouth County will be discussed during a public meeting on April 10. The meeting begins at 7 p.m., at Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center, 4500 Sioux River Road, in Sioux City.

The purpose of the meeting is to gather input on the possible designations for the new area: wildlife area, state park, state recreation area or state preserve. The new area features a stocked pond, prairie remnants, good wildlife habitat and scenic views of the Big Sioux and Missouri rivers.

Officials representing the Iowa Department of Natural Resources will be on hand to give an overview of the area, explain how the DNR acquired the land, and various management options.
