This morning i sat till 12 expecting to see bucks crusing all day but i didnt see a deer after 930. I even had a buck bed down about 150 yards away at about 9 and he didnt move at all.
Is anyone else seeing any good midday movement or is it still a little early? I thought it could have something to do with how hot it is to but i dont know. Thanks for sharing.

i had some good action on the 6th between 10 and 1130 with two dinks chasing and a few other does on the move...today was a bust, i have been sitting all day for the last week...the 6th was the best day yet by far...need some cool weather come on 30's

Southern,

You just basically described my last two sits to a tee. Till about 11:30 or 11:45 on Sat and Sun. Nothing after 9:30. Today, I was even parked next to a feeder creek and a river thinking maybe something would be interested in some water.

IMO this heat is dampening mid-day and most likely elevating night time (along with the fact that nightime light was still pretty bright last night) and it has got it really slow.

I will probably try some more next week if the I get some E winds just cause ya don't get it very often but I am really wanting some highs in the 40's rather than this 60 degree crap (no offense farmers).

I have been putting together many excuses as well but people are still killing nice bucks.. Mine are; the moon with combination of clear skies at night, hot temps, high winds, etc, etc, etc....

I have to agree with stringleech though, my best day was the 6th in the morning, it was rocking..

I sat all day yesterday. Saw good deer movement before 9:30 and after 3:30 but nothing in between. My friend went out today and he saw a 140+ inch 10 point with a doe at noon.

i've hunted every morning before school for the last week and everything seems to slow down around 9 oclock. The 6th was a really good morning but yesterday morning (the 7th) was crazy! Had two hot does come in and then the bucks just kept coming. i think we saw 9 different bucks!
Had a nice 140 class 10 come in and i passed him but then a really nice 8 came in and im a sucker for big 8s so i had to shoot him. My camara guy got it all on video to so that was really cool. Hes not the biggest deer, rough scored him at 144 but im happy with him. I will be posting pics and story soon.
But any more guys that have hunted all day i'd really like to hear what you've been seeing. I still have my land owner tag so i'm going to keep hitting it hard but i dont want to waste my day and sit from morning till dark if there arnt any deer moving midday.

Too hot...too much corn still in. I have a lot of excuses too.

Corn has been my enemy in finding the does and I see no relief from it in the future. On a lighter note, late season may be my bowhunting ticket

Today I sat until 10:30am. If I would have sat until 10:35am I would have a 170 inch 10 point hanging in my garage. As soon as my feet hit the timber floor and took 3 steps I looked to my left and saw this 10 point I have been looking for with two does 30 yards away. How I missed them from the stand I have no idea. Fellas I would say anything can happen at any time. Im thinking the more stand time the better the chance.

I arrived at our farm yesterday at 1pm, picked up the card from the foodplot cam on the way in to the stand. Had a pic of a buck chasing a doe, nice looking 2.5, time --> 12:45. It was warm a pretty windy yesterday too. A buddy hunted all day yesterday, by noon he had seen 10 does and 9 bucks; he said there never really had been a lull to that point.
