Slow Going

I went outside to grab something out of my car at about midnight last night... It was so bright it almost seemed surreal. Not a cloud in the sky, nearly full moon. If I were a deer I would have been moving at night too!!

Hopefully this front and waning moon will get em up and moving.

I went out for the first time this season and saw a bunch of deer in central Iowa. On the way to my blind I bumped a doe and a little later a real nice 10 point I would guess about 140. Neither of them were to spooked, they didn't even put up the flag and the buck only hopped a few yards then walked away into the timber. About 20 yards from my blind I bent down to pull an old arrow out of the ground I found and all of a sudden two little four points come out of some thick stuff and walk through the CRP just 15 yards from me. About an hour before dark I had 4 does way out in the cornfield my blind faces get up, they were bedded way out in the middle of the field. Soon after two little bucks walked by. Shortly after a few does came out into the field followed by a nice buck. The buck was being a little pushy with them and followed them around. Nothing ever came within range while I was in my blind. I'm guessing all the movement was because of the rain we are suppose to get.
