How bout a slug hunters sub forum?

I personally would like it and think it would be used and useful......

Good idea, but I can see the membership doubling as people create an alias so they don't get outed as a gun hunter and a bow hunter.. :)

I am not trying to stir anything up just think it wouldn't hurt.

The shotgun threads are all the same.....................POINTLESS. Someone complaining about tresspassing, party hunting groups to large, shooting small bucks, crossing fences after "wounded" deer, the freiken list goes on and on and on.

"Hi, my name is Eric... and I'm a slug hunter (& muzzy & X-bow)" They say admitting you have a problem is the first step. ;)

Not a bad idea but I agree with Nick as well...everyone is on the same side here. I know slug hunters get the bad rep vibe but we are all on the same team here. The slug hunters who are chasing deer down with their trucks, trespassing, shooting out their windows, shooting at anything for that matter are the ones who give it a bad name. With the guys/gals we have here and are members of this site, I don't think that type of hunter resides in these forums...hopefully not anyway. Bow hunters aren't perfect either. We can all learn from each other regardless the weapon of choice. (I know that if you had a slug forum we could still learn those things there) but I guess my point is that we are all on the same side. Don't think we need to separate forums because of the weapon. My 2 cents

Lets just be honest, I hunt bow and shotgun. But I hunt the same way no matter what I'm using. To me, killing an animal when they don't know i'm there is my style. It's about stealth. Sneaking in unnoticed. Not being smelled. Taking precaution and preparation. Monitoring wind direction. Etc etc. flushing game up so that my buddy at the end can blast it and/or take questionable shots on it... Well that's not my style. It's doesn't take a whole lot of skill to unload your semi auto shotgun on a running deer, which I heard a lot of this season. On the other hand, I do respect those who carefully push deer. Doing it the right way, people don't have to shoot at running deer and its really a lot safer. Deep inside, I really don't like the idea of flushing game, but for some people, it's family tradition and I can respect that. I have better things to do with my time than argue with guys that dont act like me. I am completely okay with agreeing to disagree.

Not everybody will get along though. You could easily make the whitetail forum for general discussion, the have both bow and shotgun sections. Could be quite useful

I'd vote no, as a shotgun hunter and a bow hunter who gives a crap? It's still hunting anyway you look at it. Sure, more people do stupid stuff, maybe because over 65,000 people go 2nd season and like 70,000 go first season. How many go Bow season/late season? Ever think about that?

It could be an informative and fun forum, but even now, there's thread after thread started and staying in the wrong forums. :( Adding another would just add more confusion and work for the mods trying to keep things organized. Since a lot don't get moved to the proper forums now, it appears they are too busy as is.

Who cares if people find out that I bow hunt private land, and shoot any deer that moves on public land while party hunting during first season shotgun because we like to fill our freezers and don't care about the trophies.

i think if we start a shotgun forum then there should be a bow forum, a muzzy forum, and on and on, it all should just stay under the same place in my opinion
