Found this on our driveway yesterday and had no idea what it was. After looking around I found out it is (was) a slender glass lizard (about 13") and that they are a threatened species in Iowa. Only one I have ever came across.
Better get a salvage tag & pickle that thing for your grandkids to see someday or it would make a great paper weight - glass lizard in a glass jar.:way:
I have caught all kinds of snakes and critters and I have never seen one of those either! Very cool! A buddy of mine caught a Skink lizard in a corn field the other day and they are really rare in this area to. He pronounced it "Skank". Then he called his wife and said he found a skank in the field and wanted to know if he could bring it home. She was not impressed.
