Well, I am still out in Bismarck, ND working for Bobcat on my internship and have made a few friends out here with some of my co-workers/other intern students. It has been pretty fun working out here so far and has given me many opportunities to try some new things.
Well... it just so happens that one of my buddies out here is on the NDSU Rodeo Team and rides bulls quite often. A few of us thought that this would be a great idea. Well, I know all of you were young and dumb once in your life so you know where I'm coming from when somebody asks you if you want to do one of the most bada$$ things ever. I mean, who else can say they "strapped in and went for a ride on 1500 lbs. of pissed off beef?" Besides... what better way to conquer my fear of cows? /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif
So the trip started off well with meeting an ambulance on the way out to "podunk town" middle of nowhere North Dakota. Should have been a sign for us but at least we knew there were emergency personnel in the vicinity somewhere.
Anyways... here are a few photos
This is myself strapping into "Freckles"
Myself livin the dream before I made a graceful dismount...
A couple pictures of "Freckles" the bull before he was pissed...
Well, I was launched from "Freckles" into the air and came down with a mighty thud as 270 pounds of all that is man should. During the collision I felt/heard a pop. It is not for certain yet what exactly popped but speculation has that I have relocated my hip... well today at work was a real S.O.B. trying to hobble around the factory while taking the laughter and ridicule from my coworkers. So... I suppose I will go to the clinic tomorrow and see what they have to say.
Also, one of my other buddies that had the same bright idea as myself was involved in a little dance with a bull as I was on Tuesday night and finally went to the clinic today to find out he fractured his humurus bone up at the top and has to be in a sling for a few weeks. Hopefully my news tomorrow from the doc will be a little better.
In retrospect... I have a new found appreciation for bulls and bull riders and would maybe do it again sometime but not in the next month. But at least I can say as Bill Engvall would... "I AM A COWBOY!!!"
Sorry for the lengthy post but the story had to be told...
