Southeast Iowa House/Shop Almost Finished

It has been a long journey for my wife and I.

We bought some ground in Davis county about 10 years ago. We started construction on a pole barn house with a connected shop about a year ago. My wife and I moved up here October 1, 2018. We worked on our house all winter and this spring while we lived in our camper.

We are now living in the house. My wife was born and raised in Cedar Rapids. She has a lot of family in Iowa. I was born and raised in Texas. We were tired of the big city and decided to sellout and build here in Iowa.

It has been fun, it has been challenging, it has been stressful, but it has been worth it all. We love it here !!!

Congrats looks awsome !! So glad to hear you are enjoying it down there we are in the process of this also they just roughed in our driveway and house/barn area ! And we are meeting with the water and electric people on friday !!! We will be moving down this fall or early spring 2020 !! Just nw of drakesville !!

Will do. Welcome to the land of the giants!! Were you ever able to fix that "landslide" on the south fence with the neighbor? Were you able to hunt your place last fall?

No. We have been so busy with the house we have not done much to the property. No I did not hunt last year. I had not been here long enough to establish residency. I am good to go now. I turned 65 in December. I now have a Iowa lifetime hunting and fishing license.
