Speaking of meat...

The poll about the game meat got me to thinking. I have eaten a LOT of game meat, including most of those listed in the polls, plus at least a dozen others including various ducks and geese, gamebirds, small game mammals, muskrats, alligator, coyote, raccoon, and the list goes on.

This one, however, is one that I would be willing to bet that is one thing I have eaten that no one else on this forum has. It was served at my birthday party last March. See if you can figure out what it is. Guess away!

Have fun.

No right guesses so far.

I'll give you a hint. This was not in the US, but these animals are found in the US. You probably know of no one who has ever eaten one.

I see lots of little legs & feet. That's not a plate of kitten is it? Maybe turtle or giant salamander? Wait...Minnesota...could it be Loon?

Another hint: When this picture was taken, I was in Lima, Peru visiting my daughter and son in law who are missionaries there. Their friends threw a birthday party for me and this is a delicacy that they eat over there on special occasions.

In the US they are considered pets. In South America they are food.
