Spring 2026 CRP CP25

I'll start by saying I worry about everything, but we had 27ac drilled for CP25 native grass/wildflower in SE Iowa. It was drilled on May 12th and 13th by a local guy that has been doing it a long time and came highly recommended by the DNR wildlife biologist. We have definitely had plenty of nice rains and mixture of warm to hot weather and so far I see very little to no signs of anything coming after almost 6 weeks. I've done 3-4 prior plantings in CP25 and monarch mix and it hasn't taken nearly this long before you could clearly see rows of germinated plants. Anybody else do CRP plantings about the same time and if so do you see any results? Should I be worried at this point or should I have confidence that it will eventually come?

Was an unusual May for a lot of the state. I planted a few areas of a similar mix and it has been slower than normal but is finally coming in. I’d give it a few more weeks before I got too worried.

Planted 20 ish acres of natives around same time in Adair county. Switch grass is up, but hardly any of the natives in the mix are up as of last week. Area has gotten slammed with rain. Everything was drilled and I noticed some of the switch had moved down the hill in spots. Unfortunately, guy can only control what he can control. Seeds still there and should turn into something at some point. Wouldn’t stress it…….
