Stolen treestands!!!

I had a treestand stolen last night sometime. My cousin hunted it yesterday evening and it was still hanging. I went to hunt that stand this morning and poof it wasnt there. Besides my cousin and I there is only one other person that knew that stand was there was the neighbors field owners son. He saw me sitting in it 3 days ago when he was helping his dad harvest the field. The stand was on the side of the fence that I have permission to hunt. Also they left a bud light can beside the tree and that is what the guys son drinks. Seen him at the bar a few times and also talked to his son while he was in his truck drinking bud light cans. So what can I do about this situation.

Beat a confession out of the son, and stop leaving treestands on fencelines. They're easy targets.

Probably nothin, I know alot of people that drink bud light. Talk to the land owner next door and tell him you had a stand stolen, describe it to him, and say that the only person that has ever seen you sitting in it is his son. Don't say you think his son stole it, ask him if you can talk to him and find out if there have been any people around.

I'd probably be loud about it at the bar. Threaten to kick the SOB's arse for stealing it!!! That kind of stuff really urks a guy! Not much else you can do unless you send the beer can away for DNA evidence.

I'm blessed with an open-mouth. I wouldn't have a problem flat-out asking the guy. Don't try to be a tough-guy about it, but just corner him and ask if he took your stand. Explain that you'd appreciate having your property returned to you.

See this allows the guy options. He can either lie and provoke you, or swallow his pride like the scum he is and admit to it. Either way you're going to come out ahead...he gets to decide how many black eyes are involved.

Had the same situation last year..... guy at school hunts next door to me and he didnt like the fact i had permission o be in this part of the woods...i am out one morning and see a monster buck...i decide to go back out that afternoon and its gone. i was pretty confident i knew it was him but never really got around to asking him. Sure enough my older brother talked to his older brother and the stand show up next to the tree next time i went out. The kid took my stand down and hid it in the woods.
