I am looking to buy a new digital trail cam and would like any suggestions on what to buy, what not to buy, best camera for the money or anything else.

I have looked at the Leaf River Digital($300 or a little less) with the LCD screen for viewing your pics, this seemed like an ok camera, any thoughts?

we have 3 of those Leaf River and everything is awesome, only thing is the trigger speed is about 3 seconds, hasn't been a problem though. Awesome quality, easy to run, great customer service which shouldn't be needed, and great all around cam! The LCD screen is nice but when it gets COLD the liquid in the screen freezes and it doesn't work, just a little heads up. Trust me, you wouldn't be disappointed with this cam!!
 
I would definately go with the cuddeback! They have some new ones coming out this spring one of which is more reasonably priced. As far as I can tell cuddeback out performs every camera on the market.
 
approximately a year and half ago we purchasd seven cuddeback digitals. at the time the best one they made. all seven have been back at least once and one five times for service. service has been good but at 35.00 each time plus shipping not real empressed with the camaras performance or the the willingness to help out a possibble repeat customer. at this time i am looking for several more camaras i willnot consider cuddeback. just my experience good luck.
 
I have made up my mind that I will purchasing either the Vcam or the Cuddeback this year.

Then theres this little part of my brain that says "try one of each".

I have had 2 cuddebacks and this last year I bought a leaf river digital. The LR is way better than the cuddeback. I wont ever buy another cuddeback again. I dont think I have evr heard anyone complain about a leaf river. That is more than I can say for the cudde.

We salute you "Mr. never had a problem with a digital trail camera Man!

While other hard core trail camera guys have their cameras in the shop, you are still out there over a scrape in November laying down some awesome high quality photo's of 200 inch bucks.

While they are back at the house re-charging batteries, you are sitting at home dreaming about the next day you get to change out your memory card.

While you are drinking a cold beer and sharing your best trail cam photos with your buddies on Iowawhitetail, they are still sitting in the timber reading the operation instructions.

This Bud's for you - Mr. Never Had A Trail Cam Problem Man!!!
 
I have a Leaf River and so do 2 friends. Two of us had to return ours but the replacements worked fine. Battery life is fantastic, trigger speed is not. Pic quality is usually good, with occasional pics that suck for unknown reasons.
If I were buying today based on what I have seen here, I would buy a Vcam.
