The Hunt Never Ends....
Well, I headed to one of my favorite treestands Friday morning with high hopes. After sitting in the stand for around one hour without seeing any deer I started to second guess my decision of hunting this particular stand. Then, around 8am, I caught movement about 100 yards ahead of me. I looked through my binos, and realized that a buck was walking at a quick pace right towards me. When he reached 40 yards he stopped, lifted his head, and started sniffing. I thought he was going to turn around and walk away, but to my surprise he angled to my right until he was 20 yards away and broadside. I drew back, settled my pin on him, and pulled the trigger. As soon as the arrow hit he bolted off and I could see blood pumping out of both sides of his body. When he got to about 70 yards from me he did the dance of death and smacked the ground. This is the earliest in the season I have ever shot a buck, so it looks like i'm going to have a good time filling doe tags and catching bucks on video for the rest of the year! He scored 131 7/8.
