Survival of the fittest

goatman

I hunt days ending in Y
I was reading Iowa Whitetail this morning when I noticed two redwing blackbirds in a fight in the pond. I was thinking they mess around to long an a bass will end it. That didn't happen. They fought when one gained the position on top of the other one. The lower one started for the bank with the top one on his shoulders. Before long the top one held him under and in a couple of minutes it was all over. Never seen anything like it.

There are few things in this world that I hate... red wing blackbirds rank just below hornets, wasps, and bumble bees. Too bad they both didn't drown.

some of my fondest memories are killing those birds with rocks at the lake....hours of enjoyment.

i once killed one with a texas rigged plastic worm when it dive bombed me. i whipped the fish pole around with 6 feet of line out and the worm hit the bird, the hook entered it's neck, it flew off and landed in a tree then fluffed up and keeled over.

it was awesome.

yeah, i was a red wing poacher back in my younger days, i've since attoned for my sins.

hahaha
Muddy, i can see you flipping out on a small birdy like that...
