Swans

16 swans spent last weekend in a neighbors corn field. Kind of cool to see.

Definitely cool to see them. I see some down near my farm along the Des Moines River with some frequency, FWIW. Also, I saw a video clip today that some waterfowl, to include swans, have taken sick and died in the Sweets Marsh...also FWIW.

That "bird" flu that is going around?

And before anyone calls me on it, there were 16, just didn't want to zoom out to catch them all. Plus, I didn't want to take off my shoes to count.

Same thing happened last year at little wall lake. Of course the many local libs took the opportunity to blame lead shot.

Didn't think to look for bands. I slowed down as I drove by taking pictures, didn't care to drive them off the field if they got jumpy by stopping.
