I am not trying to sound like a jerk, but I don't like either of your questions or your reasoning. I think that it all reflects a moral lacking and selfserving attitude that says "what ever pleasures me more is the right thing to do". If you had access to 1000's of acres why in the world are you hunting next to your own fence line but on your neighbor's land? If you had a landowners tag to fill why wouldn't you be on your own ground? You imply that if the DNR didn't see you shoot and couldn't follow a blood trail it is perfectly fine to BREAK the LAW. I usually don't like comparisons but the first thing that popped in to my mind was, if your wife was out of town and the gorgous neighbor came over for a good time, is it still cheating if your wife didn't see you or couldn't follow a blood trail? What is right is right and what is cheating is cheating no matter what spin or justification we try to put on it. If you insist on keeping the most "doors open" then hunt where you are supposed to and stop trying to straddle the fence especially if it is yours. I can't help but feel that if a NR hunting the neighbor's land had shot the deer on your land and you were in a stand on your own land just waiting for a clear shot at the same deer, you would be jumping that same fence screaming mad.
