Came back home from vacation to find someone stole an SD Card, Tore up my food plot by doing donuts in it, rammed into one of my blinds (plastic pieces everywhere from the vehicle), and then while I was waiting for a sheriff...who took 6 hours to get out there and didn't even care about the damage. I had a guy shoot off the road toward my stand! He's been honking by our property for years it's Hunter harassment but I've never been able to ID him because he always "let's someone borrow his truck". I got video of him shooting off the road, bullet casings from his handgun, license plate, and a video of his face. You know what he gets?! A $125 citation! It's just gonna make things worse! Because I can't prove that he himself was in our field even though he has obvious damage to his vehicle and the plastic matches up. What a joke! If I would have been in my stand he would have been shooting directly at me! He doesn't even live near this property and he drives by every day after work just to harass me.
 
Wow that sucks! What is wrong with people! There was a post on here a while back that Liv4rut posted where a guy put a harrow upside down in his field to catch a guy. Sounds like that's what you need to do. Put "harrow" in the search field and it will come up a couple pages down.

Yes or simply a board with nails sticking up. If you know the guy now, can you file for a restraining order? I've never filed one and don't know what is required to do so. Maybe you don't have enough to go with. I have no clue. Or, just take some friends (adults) with you and go pay that guy a visit at his house. See what the heck his problem is and try to settle it.
 
I would put a harrow upside down in the driveway. Give it a little time. Occasionally check. It's only a matter of time. If it were me I may pay a little visit. To this guy deflate gate some tires. cause this is bullshit.

I would put it inside the fence so you don't spike some innocent farmer just turning around in your drive or something.
 
Handful of drywall screws thrown in his driveway while he is gone harassing. Couple times a week will keep him from driving much. Of course you don't want to stoop to his level. Whatever the case, something needs done, or it will continue forever. All you can eat knuckle sandwiches.

Agreed!!! If you set a trap and you hurt someone you are in big trouble even if they are trespassing.

^This. Don't open yourself up to unwanted liability. And surely don't post about doing it on a public forum.

What's the back story with this guy? Why you? What flipped his switch to cause him to escalate to the point of shooting at your stands?
 
Sounds like more of a Sheriff issue than s co problem. If you can match car parts in your field to the guys car his excuse that someone else borrowed my car won't fly. A little police work and charges can be filed.

Agree keep calling and try to get a sheriff that will do something. But we have the same situation on one of our farms and the law has not done much to help us .
 
I'm not dealing with the legal issues with putting stuff out like that. I'm not an idiot that's why I haven't done it.
 
I still want to know why this guy picked you as a target. Even crazy people have a reason. Maybe a whacked out reason, but they have a reason.
